Above I’m refering to the now (in)famous clip of Steve Ballmer standing on stage screaming “Developers! Developers”. However, Windows XP still doesn’t come with grep (imagine a unix system not coming with grep!?!?!). Developer tools don’t need to be huge IDEs, they can small and useful command line apps.

My only real problem with Ubuntu has been caused by using the Canadian repositories instead of the general (US?) ones.
I don’t know how I feel about using packages instead fo doing stuff from source. I guess it’s nice to be warned about updates and stuff but it just seems so weird. Like cheating or something. […]
